SALE Victorian Era Beetle Brooch, Carnelian Cabochon
The Victorians loved beetle jewelry, and I especially like this one. The head, legs, antennae and wings are made of a gold-color metal. There are two rhinestone eyes. The body of the beetle is a large red-brown carnelian cabochon stone, set firmly into the mounting.
The pinstem, which is slightly bent, fits into a tube clasp, which dates this unique piece to the middle-to-late 1800s. The brooch measures 1-3/4 by 1-1/8 inches, and is in very good condition. There are no manufacturers marks.
This item will be protectively packaged and shipped in a small box by first class mail, including postal insurance within the US. International postal insurance may be declined if not desired.
